Melody’s First B’day Celebration

and, its melody’s first birthday… we’ve booked a chalet at the chevron to celebrate her first birthday with our family members… it isn’t an easy 365 days for both melody and us… but we’re happy being able to manage so far… after all, the effort are well paid off with a cutie like melody…

the chevron chalet is really a great catch with a really huge double storey chalet, BBQ pit, swimming pool and many other facilities… all at an affordable price and whats best, its at the west side… no longer the need to travel to the east for chalets… :P

megan had fun ‘exploring’ the chalet…

 

 

next up, we hit the pool… that will also be melody’s first ever dip…

 

 

megan absolutely has not problem on the pool, in fact, she almost ventured onto the deep pool when we’re not watching… ( – . – |||)

 

melody is a little reserve at first when she hit the waters… she’s a little cautious splashing the water and moving around…

 

but in only a short while… all rule break loose for melody… no fear…

 

 

in fact, i think the fear is instill mainly on us… we’re so afraid of her toppling on her little float…

 

 

and megan… no problem at all! after all, as she always says “i’m not a baby, I’m 3 years old already!”

 

another almost topple stunt by melody when we’re trying to snap a shot of her…

 

 

 

but whats most important… the kids are having lotsa fun… this is the family moments that i’ve been missing for so long…

 

 

after a long tiring swim, we slowed down the pace by placing the kids at the kid’s play room where they can roam freely on the carpeted floor and the toys around… and also, while waiting for the burning event… BBQ!

 

and finally, melody’s first birthday cake… and melody’s ‘best friend’ hello kitty came to celebrate!

 

and its a really huge and thick 2kg cake for 14 of us…

 

the birthday girl with her first birthday cake… when we showed megan this photo, megan exclaimed ‘melody didn’t fall from the table!’… oh ya, where’s megan? she’s fast asleep upstairs, totally knocked out from the tiring day… she missed melody’s first birthday celebration!

不知不觉, 又一年了.

Somehow, another 365 days flew by. My 33th year had so far brought me further and higher with the new life challenges for having lesser energy and more to do...

The more birthdays I had, the less I felt it's about me... Or rather, at times, prefer to ignore the fact that I'm older on this day... :P

4/4, and 4 ladies I'll like to compliment on this day...

4/4/77. The lady whom carried me for 9 months and giving birth to me on this day. Yes, that's my mum. Thanks mum...

4/4/97. The lady whom started marking 4/4 as a most important date on her calendar since 1997... Thanks dear, for making 4/4 so much special for the past 15 years, and many more to come... Love ya muchie!

4/4/08. The lady whom gave me the best b'day gift I can ever get, by giving birth to our first daughter, Megan! And yes, also making 4/4 even more special, Megan shares the same birth day and month with me! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, my love. You made daddy's day super special on this day, this month, this year onwards... You dun know how much daddy love you too, as adequately as how u replied me, '5'... I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH!

4/4/11. Today, it's getting specialer cuz there's another lady, or rather girl, whom celebrates my birthday for the first time. That will be my second daughter, Melody... Daddy's saying the same '5' to you too, I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH!

And of course, all the friends and relatives' well wishes too... Thanks for taking part in making the first day of my 34th age, a special one... 

how right i was,

that the lack of blog updates had seen us thru the various events that i last mentioned in my previous post… march had been another not so easy month for us, especially when melody was admitted to the hospital due to UTI…

poor melody was having high fever for a few days before we decided that its not those ordinary teething kind of fever, and sent her to the KKH and once again, she was admitted…

and this stay, landed us 4 days, with melody being ‘poked’ all over her limbs for the blood test and administer of antibiotics… that poking part, took more than 45 minutes in the treatment room, with us outside, hearing her screams and cries… helplessly…

nevertheless, she recovered, and no more fever… but was given tubes of antibiotic to last her till may before her follow up… and i really meant tubes of antibiotics…

 

that event, totally brought me downright depressed for being a parent… and i had to share to all of the fact that, behind every smiling happy child, there’re the tired and exhausted parents… so, love and treasure your parents, it not easy being one…

 

 

anyway, i think all who visited my facebook, should already seen the photos that i took of megan’s first homework… but hey, i rarely got a chance to take out my dslr to ‘fire’ away, and so got to bear with my trigger happy fingers eh? and here it goes again…

 

 

 

 

as for melody, she is growing well, and had more teeth and starting to stand with support…

this photo here is a little outdated, cuz now she got 4 teeth!

 

despite the tiredness and exhaustion, i really love these kids of mine cuz they type of joy they had given me is something that i never had before… 

but then again, it will be better if parenting can be easier… haiz… :P

time & space

time and space, essential elements that’s affecting me greatly in recent…

 

time is something that i don’t seem to get enuff… and seemingly reducing recently, almost like i’m getting less than 24 hours a day… my life starts at 7 every morning, and after rushing Megan to school and off to work, my next 9 hours got spent in my pathetic work… and when all others (mainly singles or childless) get to have a breather after 5:30, i’m making an ‘amazing race’ kind of rush back home, in our sardine packed style train, only to arrive at Megan’s school to saw her being the last few or sometimes, the last one to be fetched…

there after, its another trip on our sardine packed bus ride home while Joelle packs the dinner home. and when others usually get to kick off their shoes and laid back to relax when they got home, we get to continue ‘working’ the moment we got home… meaning, me to shower Megan while Joelle prepares the packed dinner for Megan. then its me eat first while Joelle feeds Megan… and most of the time, i think i’m swallowing my dinner, to take over feeding Megan relieving Joelle to have her dinner…

end of the story after Megan is settled? not quite, next up, doing the laundry else Megan don’t get to have uniform the day after… and when Megan finally sleeps at 10-11pm, we get to shower and then its dragging our wasted body to bed and rest, cuz within 7 hours, its time to wake up…

oh, weekends? things just get ‘better’ cuz Melody returns home from my parents’ place… woohoo!

so, i really don’t understand why some singles and childless couples complaint about having no time and no energy… not to mention, no money…

 

the above story about time, is only to make my lack of blog updates seem reasonable enuff… anyway, this is only our 3rd year of parenthood, it will be quite some time before things get easier for us… :P

 

space is the next big thing we’ll be changing in 2011. yes, we’re moving out of yew tee this year. besides making cash from the sales, the primary decision to move out, is to move in to somewhere nearer to our parents. its not doing us any good by having packed the meals, and living in a remote island where the nearest call for help is a whopping 20 minutes away…

we made a superb choice when we first got our flat, nowhere near either of our parents, to start a live of our own, and to break away from the ‘watchful’ eyes of our parents. its was heaven back then, partying after work, returning late and waking up sinfully late for work… without worrying about disturbing our sleeping parents…

now, things changed when we had Megan and changed drastically when Melody arrived 2 years after Megan. everything gets increasingly difficult, we need help! hence moving nearer to parents seems to be the best decision for us now… and in a few years time, we’ll be in trouble when Megan starts her elementary school. how are we to settle her half day before/after her school?

hence, this will be the right time for us to move…

 

our time and space is greatly affected by Megan and Melody, and we’re making changes to balance the equation, with a lot of effort… but sometimes, it just seem so difficult to rationale the effort with the results yielded… especially when the results are these:

 

 

 

 

suddenly i’m full of energy… everything’s so effortlessly now…
