Wake me up when September is over… part 2

part 2. my failing health

and yes, i think my health is failing me… couple of days before megan’s PTM, i was down with fever and headache… however, as it started on wednesday nite, and panadol seems to help, i went to work the next day…

then again, the fever and headache strike again on thursday nite… and again panadol does the job… and i started wondering, if these word on the panadol box are trying to hint me something… “KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN!”

and this time, the fever and headache don’t seem to go away, cuz on friday, the headache was like for the whole day… thankfully, it was megan’s PTM and i got the day off to attend… and it was until evening time when i got really weaken, and went to see a GP… it was quite a pathetic sight as joelle (THE SUPERWOMEN in this story) had to accompany me to the clinic, together with megan and melody…

the GP is suspecting some kind of 脑摸炎 and suggested me to go NUH for a scan if the prob persist on sat…

and i couldn’t wait till sat as the headache got really bad and i was rushed to NUH A&E with the help of joelle’s brother and m parents coming over to look after the M&M sisters…

at the NUH, i was given the drip and took some blood tests for malaria and dengue… and an injection to ease the headache…

of course, with all the drips and injection, the fever subsided and the headache went away… and the blood tests shown negative result to malaria and dengue… i guess the NUH doctors dun know what’s wrong with me and decided to send me home with some pills and a follow-up checkup at polyclinic 2 days later… and of course, no scanning for 脑摸炎...

over the next 2 days, i’m still a little feverish and a little headachy, but not as bad as those i’m having on friday… hence on monday, i went for my follow-up at bukit batok polyclinic…

and there, i met the most uncaring doctor i ever saw in my whole life… that doc is totally impatient and when we asked if its 脑摸炎 and if scanning is required, he replied in a very frustrated tone that its not 脑摸炎 and symptoms would have been extreme if its really 脑摸炎...

fine, its not 脑摸炎, but shouldn’t doctors have some kind of caring attitude when replying patients? for your information, doctor goh chin hoe of bukit batok polyclinic, i’m talking about you…

anyway, i’m feeling better now, but is definitely taking additional care of myself by drinking more water nowadays… i was rushing work at office everyday, hoping to be able to knock off on time, so as to be able to pick up megan from her school… its not that i worry about the late fine (even thou ado is very relax on this), but i hate to see megan being the last few to be fetched…

and so, i don’t realise i tend to drink less water at work…

hence nowadays, you guys at work gonna see me carrying a water bottle walking around…

  1. sorry to hear abt the uncaring doctor. most docs dun like being asked questions. but i think it's the patient's responsibility to ask questions and to prevent it from happening the next time. get well soon.
